ABOUT ME

Dimitri Goossens (°1975) is a philosopher and a historian. He studied history at the University of Antwerp and the University of Ghent.

In 1997 he started teaching history, art, sociology, media and philosophy at a secondary school in Schaarbeek (Brussels). During his teaching he started studying philosophy at the University of Antwerp. He specialized in philosophy of art and religion. He now prepares a Phd in philosophy of art (subject : is there still a 'sacred' or 'sacredness' in transgressive art and imagery concerning death ?) at the Free University of Brussels.

Since 2015 he is active as a guestlecturer at the Royal Academy of Music, Dance and Drama in Antwerp. He teaches 'Cultural Currents part 1 and 2' in first and second Bacheloryears.

As a lecturer he has been active in Belgium ('Zoekend Hert' in Antwerp, Drama School Lemmens Leuven, School for Comparative Philosophy in Antwerp,...) and the Netherlands (TedX+Utrecht, Summer Darkness Utrecht, University of Amsterdam,....)

As a historian he is tv-host for the topic 'Once upon a time' in 'Fans of Flanders' on Flemish television.

Up to this day he combines all these things with a job as teacher of history, human sciences and art in a secondary school in Essen.
